The Georgia Association of Student Councils is excited to introduce this year’s State Service Project, in partnership with Work2BeWell (W2BW), a national program committed to teen mental health and wellness. W2BW provides vital resources and education designed to empower teens, parents, and educators to prioritize mental health. Through this partnership, GASC aims to equip schools with tools to promote wellness and break down the stigma surrounding mental health conversations. The project will support students in creating an inclusive, supportive environment within their school communities where wellness is a priority.
This year, participating schools will follow a “Roadmap to Wellness,” with monthly wellness topics and project ideas to guide them in fostering a stronger school climate. Each month, schools can choose from various project ideas centered around mental health themes, giving them the flexibility to address their school’s unique needs.
To earn the GASC State Service Award, schools will need to complete six wellness projects by the end of the year. Some schools are well on their way by completing projects earlier in the year! By engaging in these initiatives, schools will build a foundation for promoting ongoing student wellness, making a lasting impact within their communities and helping GASC and W2BW realize their vision of creating a culture where wellness is prioritized and openly discussed across Georgia.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Corey Stillwell.
